Regatta insulated jacket for kids – approx £20.00 online

If you’re on the look out for a great lightweight insulated jacket for kids, take a look at Regatta Outdoors Kids Kielder Hybrid II jacket. It’s brilliant for playing out during the chill of Autumn and perfect for layering under a shell for skiing or winter wear. It’s also incredibly affordable retailing currently in sales at around £20.00.

This Regatta jacket is the perfect insulated layer and we love the bright green and orange combo!

The jacket features quilted Warmloft insulation with EXTOL Stretch making it a super lightweight jacket that keeps my young adventurers’ core warm but the flexibility and stretch to make it a real doing activity jacket.

The lightly wadded body uses highly compressible Warmloft fill that has the feel of natural down yet performs even when wet.

We love the ‘EXTOL Stretch’ fabric – it makes the hood, arms and side panels allow a full range of motion – great for playing in trees or slack lining!

The colour contrasts are very cool – the orange and bright green truly pop making this jacket look much more expensive that it is! The range features lots of bright funky colour combos to choose from.

The stretch binding at the hood, cuffs and hem are great detailing. The streamlined fit seals out the elements with a snug fit. We hate baggy hoods – especially in the mountains.

Treated with a DWR (Durable Water Repellent) finish, this low-bulk layer works brilliantly as a standalone or under shells in deep winter. My girls say all the time how comfy the jacket is (down to the stretch material). I wish they had one in my size!

Pockets! The jacket features two zipped hand pockets, and open inside pockets useful for shoving a neck warmer or something (non valuable) in there.

Key features of this jacket are:

  • Extol stretch hood, sleeves and side panels for fit and freedom of movement
  • Durable water repellent finish to body
  • Synthetic Warmloft down-touch water repellent insulation
  • Easily compressible
  • Lightweight fill
  • 2 zipped lower pockets
  • Stretch binding to hood opening, cuffs and hem

My girls have used these jackets all Autumn and we’ll be still seeing a lot of use this Winter by layering up against the snow during the colder months of December and January.

The sleeves also have a reflective patch for night time safety – great touch.

This jacket is currently on sale for approximately £20.00 from UK online retailers. It’s an absolute bargain. Buy a larger size and it will last years. Note that the Regatta Outdoors website is atrocious – if you google this jacket and then follow the link to Regatta Outdoors many of the links are not found and the Regatta Outdoors product photos are small and often blurry. If you want to purchase this jacket I’d go to another online retailer such as Go Outdoors or Amazon.
